Robert Frerck is a free-lance photographer and owner of Odyssey Productions, a stock photography agency founded in 1977. Frerck specializes in foreign travel photography, and has worked in over fifty countries. His work has been seen in many of the most prestigious magazines in the U.S. and Europe including, Time, National Geographic, German Geo, French Geo, Russian Geo, Travel and Leisure, Architectural Digest and the Smithsonian. His commercial clients have included American Express, Citibank, Iberia Airlines, United Airlines and the Spanish and Mexican Tourism Offices.

In 1991 Frerck completed the photography for his first book, Eternal Spain, a visual exploration of the Spanish landscape and traditional culture. Eternal Spain was selected by Iberia Airlines and the Spanish Tourist Office as an official promotional piece during the 1992 World's Fair in Seville and the Barcelona Summer Olympics.

The second title in Frerck's series is Eternal Mexico, released in the spring of 1996. Like its predecessor, Eternal Mexico explores the diversity of Mexico's landscape through the eye of the panoramic camera. Images of festivals, traditional architecture and rural life are captured as well. Frerck received the Lente de Plata (Silver Lens) Mexico's highest award for photographic excellence in recognition of his work in Eternal Mexico. More recently he has been traveling and photographing in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico and South America.

 

 

ETERNAL SPAIN is a lavishly photographed, 9 1/2" x 14 1/2" panoramic, coffee table, format book, that explores the landscape, architecture and lifestyle of traditional, rural Spain. Stunning images of castles, medieval walled towns and landscapes are dramatically spread across double-pages. Photos of traditional festivals and rural lifestyle beautifully enhance the panoramics. Published by Harry N. Abrams Co. with an introduction by the renown, New Yorker travel writer Alastair Reid and text and images by Robert Frerck.
