Our library of stock photography contains travel images of Salamanca, Burgos, Valladolid and Leon in Castile-Leon in Northern Spain. Salamanca is a city rich in historic architecture, monuments and landmarks, splendidly revealed in our stock photo images. Most important is the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca, built in Churrigueresque, Baroque style in the 18th century. Our travel pictures show Salamanca's Plaza Mayor to be the center of the city's social life with outdoor cafes, families and strolling groups of student musicians called Tuna. Also our stock photography reveals the historic architecture of the University of Salamanca. Built in the 16th century the Salamanca University was one of the first Universities of Europe and our stock photos shows its entrance to be the best example of Spanish 'Plateresque' style architecture. Our stock photos also show the rich facade of the Patio de las Escuelas with a statue of Fray Luis de Leon. We also have travel images that show the beautiful Fonseca College cloister and student life at the University of Salamanca. Plus there are stock photographs of the famous capitals depicting figures in torment in the Renaissance cloister of the Convent of Las Duenas; and stock pictures of the Gothic Cathedral of Salamanca and the Convento de San Esteban. Our stock photography caught a traditional Castillian wedding at the Salamanca Cathedral with the wedding party dressed in 18th costumes. Plus there are pictures of the famous Casa de las Conches or House of Cockleshells, a 16th century Renaissance mansion with a facade covered with shells that signify the owner to be a knight of the Order of Santiago. Also there are travel images of the skyline of Salamanca with the famous Roman bridge that crosses the Tormes River.
